We are Hemp Dog Café in Richmond, VA and we are on an important mission! We plan to help America get healthy with hemp, “the perfect food” all while helping our economy “grow”….

HEMP DOG CAFÉ™ is an innovative restaurant model offering a healthy, nutritious hemp based menu in a café and mobile café setting. We launched the first Hemp Dog™ Cart at the Richmond Bacon Festival and received national news coverage! Our mission is to introduce, or should I say “re-introduce” healthy hemp food to the American diet through our delicious hemp food creations. Chef Sean and Chef Sergio are busy creating lots of hempy recipes.

WHAT IS A HEMP DOGLove Hot Dogs? Then you will love the Hemp Dog™, the healthiest hot dog on the planet! What is a Hemp Dog™ you ask? It is the world’s first Gluten Free Hot Dog with No Fillers or Artificial Colors served on a freshly baked green, nutty Hemp Bun served with our signature Hemp Dog Gourmet Toppings. Each Hemp Dog™ will have a signature leaf burned into the bun for the full hemp experience! Soon, everyone will want a Hemp Dog!

Why Hemp? Hemp is the most nutritious food source on the planet! Hempseeds contain all the essential fatty acids (EFAs or Omegas) Omega 3, Omega 6, and Omega 9 plus all the essential amino acids necessary for human health! A handful of hempseed meets the body’s daily requirements for both EFAs and protein. There is no other natural source of both complete protein and correctly balanced essential fatty acids. Hemp is nature’s “Perfect Food.”

RMHA Mission:
To be a premier resource supporting the Industrial Hemp industry in American

We accomplish this by:
• Educating and informing the public about the health, environmental, and economic benefits of reviving an industry that has been prohibited for over fifty years;
• Building a community of individuals, businesses and organizations to facilitate the growth of the industry;
• Working collaboratively with industry, government officials, and the scientific community to create and implement industrial hemp standards, certifications and regulations.

Memberships are open to all hemp advocates, educators, farmers, manufacturers, and retailers.

We firmly believe that American industry is trending towards bio-sustainability and hemp plays a critical role in the establishment of a new economic paradigm. The Rocky Mountain Hemp Association is dedicated to shifting the perception of hemp as being an alternative crop to a mainstream commodity.

We are a 501(c)(6) Colorado non-profit corporation created to encouraging trade and discourse among hemp professionals in Colorado. We were founded as a result of legislative activities that resulted in the passage of Colorado House Bill 12-1099 and Colorado Senate Bill 13-241. Subsequent to the passage of House Bill 12-1099, the industrial hemp pilot program demonstrated the ability of hemp cultivation to remove toxins from the soil. In addition, we are dedicated to the development of the domestic industrial hemp industry. This goal will be attained by coordinating legislation, agricultural organizations, farmers, processors, manufacturers, and retailers. The promotion of the industrial hemp industry is congruent with the desire to improve the environment through production and utilization of hemp farming and products. We see a direct relationship between the products we use and stewardship of the land.

We have developed close relationships with local and state government agencies to establish regulations that benefit the hemp industry in Colorado. We provide a wealth of expertise in fields ranging from mining and agriculture to hemp materials processing and the latest developments pertaining to laws and regulations.
The Challenge and the Opportunity: Currently, the infrastructure to process raw hemp is almost non-existant throughout the United States. Currently we import hemp fiber, hurd, and hemp seeds for use in various industries ranging from health food to cosmetics and construction materials. The United States represents ninety percent of the worldwide market for hemp products which is roughly $500 million retail in the U.S. annually and has a RMHA logotrack record of 10% growth per annum.

Facilitating the production and processing of hemp within the United States will create thousands of jobs and encourage investment in Colorado. Building the infrastructure to process and sustain this new industry will require considerable investment. Educating the public about hemp, its history and uses is very important as we lay the foundations of building and investing in a sustainable industry.

The Association represents: Colorado hemp farmers, processors, manufacturers, start-up businesses, entrepreneurial endeavors, and retailers National and international industries which recognize the benefits of hemp as a versatile and ecologically-friendly material. We strive to build a viable industrial hemp economy by providing education about the benefits of hemp and providing expert consultation to producers and processors entering the hemp industry.

The focus of The Rocky Mountain Hemp Association is to create business relationships through a well defined project-based approach. These projects will provide valuable data concerning yields and hemp quality for the purposes of defining the economics and agrology of the Colorado hemp industry. This data will allow interested parties to make informed decisions regarding potential investments in the hemp industry.

The World’s first hemp-fibre sunglasses.

design hemp eye

“Sam Whitten has designed and manufactured ‘hemp eyewear’, sunglasses made from a hemp fibre composite. ‘Research into hemp and its possible applications led to the discovery of hemp and flax fibre composite sheet material which are impregnated with an eco friendly binder,’ said Whitten.The composite sheets require compression moulding under heat to form and cure the material which is normally done with machines. Once the layers in the frame and legs are assembled, the sunglasses are then coated with an eco friendly bio resin to add extra waterproof and strength properties (Source).”

Industrial hemp has been the world’s super crop for centuries, used for everything from textiles in clothes to parts for cars. It is the strongest plant fibre in the world and is a more sustainable material than even wood.

We believe this incredible material should be used to create more sustainable and eco-friendly products, and that is why we have used it to make our sunglasses. At Hemp® we use this material to make the only hemp sunglasses available, setting us apart in a competitive industry.
