Founded in 2011 by Tonya Watts, Dazey Hemp Skin Care is a dynamic and sustainable emerging global skin care brand. Made in California, Dazey Hemp products are designed and formulated with sustainability in mind. Dazey Hemp use quality hemp based, vegan ingredients that are responsibly sourced and are not tested on animals.

A true rebel child of the South, Tonya Watts epitomizes the genuine 21st-century outlaw spirit in country music. Authentic, fearless, strikingly beautiful, the Alabama-born renegade’s mixture of soulful songwriting, impassioned vocal delivery and kicking, hard-edged musicality is downright irresistible. From professional acting and modeling jobs (she was Pam Anderson’s Baywatch body double, played Dolly Parton in Get to the Heart; the Barbara Mandrell Story) to her ceaseless work as outspoken social crusader (her ongoing efforts to assist Nashville’s homeless riled up a horde of Music City cops and politicians), Watt’s passion and drive are unrivaled. It is her music, though, where this extraordinary woman really excels. Source

Dazey Hemp is available online here.

We are an emerging skin care brand specializing in the use of Hemp Seed Oil in all of our products. Hemp Seed Oil is a miraculous ingredient with many uses throughout many industries. We use Hemp Seed Oil in our products for the great effect it has on moisturizing and hydrating the skin, while bringing a host of other benefits such as recompensing for lower ceramide levels in the skin and thereby reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Additionally, Hemp Seed Oil contains 50 – 60 % linoleic (LA) and 19% linolenic (LNA) acids, as well as antioxidants in the form of vitamin E and carotene. The profile of the essential fatty acids found in it closely resembles the skin’s natural lipids, and it therefore neutralizes the effects of dehydration, and protects against dry and itchy skin. Hemp Seed Oil is nature’s tonic for dry or inflamed skin.

Dazey Hemp Skin Care is proud to offer the the following line of products:Dead Sea & Hemp Extreme Facial Creme_PSD

Dazey Hemp Extreme Facial Cream: Our Extreme Facial Creme contains over 25 “goodforyourskin” ingredients that are known for their hydrating, moisturizing, nourishing, revitalizing & penetrating properties. Replenishes dry skin, aides in the appearance of rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, age spots, acne, fine lines and wrinkles.

Dead Sea Mineral Peel_PSDDazey Hemp Mineral Peel: Dead Sea Mineral Peel is a cool, cutting edge alternative to microdermabrasion. It is unscented and designed for sensitive skin. Utilizing four powerful primary ingredients, Hemp Seed Oil, Dead Sea Mineral Clay, Green Tea and Turmeric; each with unique properties that aid in restoring and rejuvenating tired, dull skin. Supporting Our Communities

We believe there’s no better time than now, everyday, to help improve life on the planet. Therefore we invest 2% of every sale to further the work of charities and nonprofit organizations. By supporting Parallel Revolution, you’re supporting not only responsible manufacturing and American jobs, but positive humanitarian and conservation movements.

Insourcing: Keeping Jobs In The USA

We’re fortunate to produce all of our woven products in the USA. By keeping most of our production stateside, we support American families and communities across the country. The power of global trade also lets us manufacture a small amount of our less technical clothing overseas, supporting the farmers and their families who grow our textiles.
    pararev-home-icon-sustainability

    Hemp: The Superior Choice

Premium hemp fabric is the foundation for every garment we make. We use Tagua (also known as Corozo) palm nut buttons exclusively, our tags are plantable (they grow California wildflowers), and our packaging is recycled and reusable. Why? Because when you start with great materials, you end with great products. Check out our blog or drop us a line to learn more!

We’re two guys who decided to make smart apparel using environmentally sound materials. By changing our own actions, we’re hoping to inspire others to do the same. Since 2010, we’ve been working to provide what you see today: a new quality line of hemp-based clothing, predominately designed and manufactured in the USA. With every sustainable garment we produce, we keep 2 parallel principles in mind:

    1. That all humans strive to do the right thing
    2. If presented an opportunity, they’ll likely act in parallel fashion

We’re here to create these opportunities. Our philosophy is simple: if we can make something we love to wear,  we know you’ll love to wear it as well.

    Jake

I have been involved in the apparel industry my whole life; my mom insisted I wear clothes.  I like to think of myself as an apparel connoisseur. In the past few years I have come to truly appreciate natural materials that have no impact on our planet, and in many cases, benefit our ecology.  Since co-founding Parallel Revolution in 2010, I have developed a love affair with hemp and tagua palm nuts (vegetable ivory), both of which are harvested with no damage to the plant or environment.  Best of all, these components are superior to the more popular/mainstream standards.  By using these components, we’ve developed what we believe to be planet earth’s preferred clothing.

From a young age, I was taught to take pride in my craftsmanship, and for that I must thank my family.  In turn, I have discovered my greatest passions are in upholding quality and American manufacturing, specifically in textiles.  Scholastically, I graduated with a degree in business from California State University, Chico.  I play the ukulele in my spare time and occasionally I can be found doing standup comedy.

    Andrew

Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, I’ve made my way to Southern California through a diverse and challenging course of career moves. I’ve spent some time in the USAF, as a stock broker, an IT consultant and started a couple businesses along the way. Outside of work I’m an ocean lover and avid surfer.

In co-founding Parallel Revolution my aspiration is to introduce hemp and other eco-friendly resources as a staple for quality apparel. My goal is to produce globally sustainable goods which provide value for our customers, our communities and our company’s future.

I intend to collaborate in the weaving of a compelling story, told a hundred years from now, which will detail an industrial hemp Revolution. We all have a small window to make a big impression on the people and planet that surround us. Let’s make our time count.

Welcome to the Revolution! You can connect with me here or find me in the lineup. Peace.

Dates of ExpoCannabis: December 14-15, 2014
Venue: Laboratorio Tecnológico del Uruguay (LATU), Montevideo, Uruguay
Sponsorships, Expo Tabling, Listing in Print Material and other opportunities available.
Mercedes Ponce de León: Is an activist from Uruguay and for the last ten years she have being participating in different campaigns promoting the legalization of Cannabis in Uruguay. She studied part of the career of Sociology in the Universidad de la República, and Scenic Arts in the Institute of Acting of Montevideo. Since a young age she has developed a strong interest into cultural and social developments. In 2007 she went traveling around the world seeking for more information about natural herbal medicines. This journey took her to live in the Amazon, Europe, Morocco, Senegal and California where she learned about organic cannabis and its different medical uses and applications. In October of 2013 she provided a tour around California for different uruguayan representatives and a group of activists, introducing the model that this state has in medical cannabis. Since the approval of the law that regulates the market of cannabis in Uruguay during December of 2013, she have been promoting spaces of information and discussion.
expocannabislogoFINAL-01-2She has organized a group of activists, forming the EXPOCANNABIS, Uruguay Siembra 2014, the first cannabis and hemp gathering for medical, therapeutic and industrial uses.  It will be a platform for scientific-educative purposes and for exchange on all aspects related to cannabis and its social, medicinal, therapeutic, scientific and industrial potential.

EXPOCANNABIS is focused on supporting the Industrial and Medical Cannabis industries in Uruguay and internationally.

EXPOCANNABIS emerges from the recognition of the medical, therapeutic and industrial potential of cannabis and hemp, following the current legal system of Uruguay, after the approval by the Parliament of the Law 19.172 that regulates the trade and distribution of marijuana in the country. This law enables the production and scientific research on hemp and cannabis.

One objective of this law is to promote a responsible use, seeking to reduce the associated risks and to promote public health and security. In this sense, EXPOCANNABIS will help create a culture of awareness that contributes to eradicate drug trafficking. This law ensures the access to a substance of quality controlled by the State. Users can access cannabis in three ways (self-cultivation, member clubs or pharmacies), freeing them from the black market. It is therefore our purpose to promote spaces that generate information and encourage the users to register under the regulation of the law, as an essential step towards the prevention of drug trafficking. The event is not intended to promote the recreational use of cannabis.

EXPOCANNABIS will contribute to the demystification of cannabis, informing the public about the health benefits and the risks resulting from improper use. Also to help remove the stigmatization of users, broadening the spectrum of possibilities within the different uses of cannabis and showing the revolutionary potential of industrial hemp, either as insulation and building material, or as fiber for paper and textile manufacture, or as bio-oil and bio-plastic, or for its nutritional benefits from the seeds.

EXPOCANNABIS will create a space of communication and exchange between all the people related with cannabis: medicinal, therapeutic and industrial hemp. We will highlight the importance of generating feedback between local and international participants, contributing to national capacity building. In this sense, EXPOCANNABIS is a contribution to the generation of synergies that allow the development of this sector, encouraging the articulation and interaction of all the stakeholders, including the government officials involved.

There are already similar types of cannabis-fairs in different parts of the world and we consider that Uruguay, as a pioneer country in the legislation of cannabis, should not be the exception. EXPOCANNABIS will have a profile focused on the development of its own model, taking in account the local situation and the current regulation. EXPOCANNABIS will be the first legal cannabis exposition in the world where all stakeholders interact: the government, the social organizations, the academy, the private operators and the users.

EXPOCANNABIS will be an annual event, taking place on December 2014 (Sunday the 14th and Monday the 15th) at the premises of the Laboratorio Tecnológico del Uruguay (LATU)

Guest 1: Christine Taylor-Bronson, Owner, Idaho Hemp Works and  Indie Hemp Works
Promo Code: GoGreen and get 30% off

Indie Hemp Works started in 2010 as “Idaho Hemp Works” by Idaho native Christine Ashley Taylor. She wanted to create a brand
for the purpose of spreading an idea that “Ecology Is Economy”.

After spending 5 years working her way up the corporate ladder of a bank Christine found herself in financial ruin, bankrupt and divorced. She began rebuilding her life from scratch and looking at the world we live in today with a passion for the global economy and modern ecology.

With nothing to lose and everything to gain she invested her last $20 bill on craft store supplies and a roll of itchy, smelly hemp twine accepting the challenge to build a brand from scratch. Friends and family purchased her first pieces of jewelry from her personal Facebook account and shortly after she began selling her products to clients around the world with the help of an Etsy account.

In 2012 she began building the official webstore in the middle of the nights while her son slept and her fiance worked a graveyard shift assisting people with a mental or physical disability.

Christine still operates the business from her home office on a cash business model and is always learning new tricks to keep up with her kids, family, personal and business life. She proclaims that its been exciting to see other eco-friendly businesses boom since she’s started her business and is grateful for the slow growth because of her old fashioned approach to business. Her dream is to grow the business to become a massive success for her family that sends out a powerful message around the world and she believes a portion of that has already been accomplished.

    Since the business was founded in 2010 the quality and streamlining of products has continuously improved. The name has changed from Idaho Hemp Works to Indie Hemp Works and the products have been shipped to places across the country and around the world but the roots and heart of the operation are still in Idaho and the mission is still the same;
Make a statement, hemp works; because without ecology there can be no economy…

Guest 2:  Doug Fine, Author, Hemp Bound

Doug Fine- Friend, Author, Father & Goat Herder

For the follow-up to his 2008 bestseller Farewell, My Subaru: An Epic Adventure in Local Living, author, investigative journalist, and solar-powered goat herder Doug Fine spent the 2011 “Emerald Triangle” cannabis growing season shadowing locally-permitted cultivators from farm to patient in Mendocino, County California. This is a redwood-enshrouded paradise where federal law enforcers are generally not welcome and cannabis is worth $6 billion to farmers annually. The number two crop, grapes, brings in $74 million. Witnessing the impact of the local legalization of cannabis on the Northern California economy and public safety (an experiment fully endorsed by the local sheriff), Fine extrapolated the staggeringly large revenue source he discovered on to a nationwide model in his widely-praised book Too High to Fail: Cannabis and the New Green Economic Revolution.

Then, in 2013, Fine realized hemp is soon to be even bigger. For more than a year, he researched hemp from Canada (where hemp is a crop valued at close to a billion dollars and growing 20% annually) to Belgium (where farmers grow hemp fibers for use in BMW and Mercedes door panels).

    Hemp Bound

In his new book, Hemp Bound, Fine convincingly argues that hemp will prove even more lucrative to the American economy than psychoactive cannabis. It is, according to Willie Nelson, “a blueprint for the future.” Hemp Bound covers all facets of industrial hemp, from production to digital age industrial applications, and everything in between. Officially published April 20, 2014, pre-order is on now everywhere. When not investigating sustainability and drug policy, Fine lives in New Mexico.  www.dougfine.com -

The couple bought their country home 14 years ago, and then three years later a piece of land came up for sale just across the road from the homestead and Stonelane Orchard was conceived. Today, in addition to raising 70 varieties of trees and shrubs, the couple also sells seedlings out of their greenhouse, manages an eight-acre plot of vegetables and offers five types of prairie fruits. In addition to vegetables, the farm also produces pastured poultry and pork from happy chickens and pigs that help to build up the nutrients in the fallow fields through a well-organized dual-animal system of grazing and rooting. If that’s not enough to keep Kim and Richard busy, the farm is also home to Richard’s landscaping business.

Recap of Hemp Lobby Day at the Hemp Industries Association annual conference in Washington DC.

ourPartners_07Vote Hemp is a national, single-issue, non-profit advocacy group founded in 2000 by members of the hemp industry to remove barriers to industrial hemp farming in the U.S. through education, legislation and advocacy. We work to build grassroots support for hemp through voter education, registration and mobilization, as well as defend against any new laws, regulations or policies that would prohibit or restrict hemp trade. Industrial hemp is the non-psychoactive, low-THC, oilseed and fiber varieties of the Cannabis sativa plant. Hemp has absolutely no use as a recreational drug.

Droz maintains presence on Capitol hill as a full-time advocate for industrial hemp farming. Droz has regular meetings with congressional offices, ranging from short education meetings, high level policy meetings, and presentations to working groups. Droz has been integral in developing and implementing legislative strategy, and continues to work day to day on these activities.

Washington, DC has been a great location for the HIA Annual Conference for the past two years. It is important that industrial hemp leaders, stakeholders and supporters continue the message that it’s time to withdraw industrial hemp from the Controlled Substance Act. Despite these legislative hurdles, there’s not shortage of momentum from supporters nationwide. This exclusive annual event united HIA members from 19 states and 4 countries, including Australia, Canada, Finland and Ireland. Among attendees were a group of internationally renowned experts whom presented on cutting edge issues as well as contemporary dilemmas. Each year, attendees leave with fresh perspective and clarity on what goals they can shoot for in the coming year.

Guest 3 : Leif Erickson, Partner (Logistics & Marketing),  Farmers Overall and President, Maine State Chapter of the  Hemp Industries Association (MEHIA)farm overall leif thumbs up

farm overall logoFarmers Overall began researching the hemp industry in 2011. We officially established our company on 3/13/2013, in the State of Maine. We obtained exclusive distribution for Hemp Shield over the summer and have just expanded our industrial line to include hempcrete building solutions and materials, after receiving my certificate from Steve Allin’s building with hempcrete course Sept 5-7, in Colorado.

We are dedicated to educate residents and businesses in Maine and other New England states about the benefits of working with the best environmentally firendly, building materials. Our staff is equipped with the resources to help you design your project and benefit from the best performance levels our products have to offer. As a subsidiary of Farmers Overall, NewEnglandHempCrete.com benefits from the lowest - direct import and delivery costs, bringing you the lowest prices for HempCrete and other hemp based products. Maine’s Status: Passage of H.R. 525 and S. 359 will be very helpful for commercial production in the State of Maine. Senator Collins and Senator King have supported the Farm Bill, and this meets the needs of the statute for research, which will allow the State to benefit from the initial stages of industrial hemp farming. Maine should follow the lead of other States, such as KY and CO. Through their example, Maine will truly benefit from it’s position regarding industrial hemp.
